What are the signs and symptoms of swine flu–and how do I protect my family?
In response to a growing number of swine flu cases in the U.S., health officials declared a public health emergency on Sunday. As of today, 20 cases of swine flu have been confirmed in the U.S. Fortunately, none of the victims seem to have contracted a severe form of the illness, and most appear to be recovering. At least 81 people in Mexico have already died of the disease. Many people fear that this is only the beginning of the epidemic, and health officials aren’t sure when or where more cases of the disease will surface. In the meantime, the public should take common sense precautions to avoid exposure.
