• Animals may show a variety of different signs and symptoms if they are infected with the rabies virus. Most of them relate to the effect of the virus on the brain. • Rabies can appear in two basic forms: • Furious rabies • Dumb rabies • A rabid animal may exhibit a combination of the two forms of rabies, or it may exhibit no clinical symptoms at all.
