What Are the Signs and Symptoms of Ovarian Torsion?
To understand the ovarian torsion symptoms, you must first know the difference between a sign and a symptom. A sign is something that can be objectively measured, which means that it can be seen by someone else and a symptom, such as pain, cannot be. With this disorder, pain in the lower abdomen is the main indicator. This can be felt in the entire region or only on one side. Most often, only one ovary is affected at a time but the pain is often severe and will radiate to the other side as well. Rapid heartbeat, nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting may also accompany the pain.
