What are the signs and symptoms of night terrors?
Night terrors may last for less than one minute, or up to 30 minutes. The terror may occur while your child is in bed or he may walk or run during the terror. Your child may also have one or more of the following: • Increased heart beat, fast breathing, or sweating during the night terror. • Little or no memory of the night terror. • During the terror he does not know who people are, or respond to their speech or touch. • Screaming, crying, shouting, gasping, or moaning during the night terror. • During the night terror, he may sit up, have a wide-eyed stare, or look confused or scared. • Kicking, rolling, or thrashing about while in or out of bed.
