Fever, depression, lethargy, vomiting and diarrhoea are all part of dog parvo symptoms. In most occasions the diarrhoea will include blood from the dog’s stomach. Loss of appetite and a watery stool that smells foul are also dog parvo symptoms that indicate the presence of the disease. Preventive Steps: This disease is easily transmitted through anyone or anything that comes into contact with infected faeces. It is commonly carried on shoes and the tires of vehicles. Dog parvo symptoms can take between 7 to 10 days before they are visible. Don’t wait until you see dog parvo symptoms before you act! Take preventative measures. This virus is tough and can resist most common cleaning fluids and disinfectants. It can exist outside a dog for many months! First of all don’t worry as your puppy can’t catch it from anything other than a dog. I have had 2 dogs with Parvo before vaccines for it were ever around. Both were very depressed first with a high temperature. Then they had watery diarrhoea and vomiting. Mine got it from a dog that had walked with it’s owner by the front of my house. I met him a few weeks later and he told me it had had Parvo a week before mine. Don’t worry as the first vaccine will be enough to prevent your pup contracting it. The first jab is the Parvo.
