Triamcinolone acetonide cream is a prescription drug used to treat numerous skin conditions, including eczema, rashes and dermatitis. It is a corticosteroid that works by reducing the itching, swelling and redness that occur as a result of the skin condition it is being used to treat. It is applied topically, but it is not safe to be used on the face, underarms or groin. It should only be applied to the affected areas of the skin, and may be used as often as two to four times a day, depending on your doctor’s orders.
