Common Side Effects of the Ortho Evra Patch: Breast tenderness, nausea, headache, irritation at the patch site, failure of the patch to adhere to the skin. Serious (but rare) Side Effects of the Ortho Evra Patch: Blood clots which can lead to stroke, pulmonary embolism (blood clot to the lungs) and heart attack. There have been some recent studies which suggest a possible increase in the risk of these serious side effects with the Patch.
