Mebendazole is a prescription medication indicated to treat worm infections caused by roundworms, hookworms, pinworms and whipworms. This medication is part of a class of drugs called anthelmintics and works by preventing worms from absorbing nutrients from the host’s body. As a result, the worms slowly die. Side effects of mebendazole are limited but should be discussed with a doctor if they occur.
