What are the Shelby stipe specifications?
In order to correctly restore a Shelby Mustang the correct specifications should be followed. There are two kinds of stripes, the side stripes with the car model and the top stripes. Only the 1965’s had factory top stripes that were dealer added options in the other models. You can find detailed description of the top stipes and the side stipes in these links. The exact dimensions for the 1965 top (or LeMans) stripes are: • 2″ Constant distance between the two stripes • 9 1/4″ At bottom of front lower valance • 9 1/4″ At Leading edge of the hood • 10 1/2″ At Bottom of the windshield • 10 1/2″ At Top of the windshield • 10 3/8″ At Top of rear window • 10 1/8″ At Bottom of rear window • 10″ At Leading edge of trunk lid • 10″ At Bottom edge of rear valance There are several places to buy the side stripes.
