What Are The Seven Central Asian Republics?
The seven Central Asian republics include Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyztan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. These countries are located between two mountain ranges, namely the Caucuses and the Pamirs. Although many of the Central Asian republics share a common past under the influence of the former Soviet Union, they are very diverse countries and often vary significantly from each other in terms of their culture, language and religion. For example, many of the languages spoken in the region have close connections to Turkish, while others are closer to Farsi. In terms of religion, Armenia is a primarily Christian country, while Uzbekistan is mainly Muslim. The countries also differ from each other in terms of their respective landscapes.
