However, they may pose dangers to those at risk of exposure, whether directly in the factories or in surrounding communities, and may be a hazard to the environment if released. Workers in factories, storage facilities, construction sites, drilling sites and at small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) can be at risk of exposure to chemical hazards, for example, through a leak from barrels in storage or through airborne contamination in a factory using a particular chemical to produce another product.
