A handicap is a measure of standard of golf that typically represents the number of strokes per round a player takes more than that which a “scratch” (zero handicapped) golfer is considered likely to score(*). For gents, there is a maximum handicap of 28. For Ladies, the maximum is 36. Scoring Systems: • Stroke Play Also called Medal Play. • Low gross No adjustment for handicap. • Low net Subtract your handicap, low score wins. • Match Play Two players play head to head. Total strokes are not important. The winner is based on who wins the most holes.
