What are the scariest Stephen King books?
Depending on your fears or general taste in horror… If you’re into vampires (gorier vampires, compared to the more teen friendly Twilight vamires), then I’d go with Salem’s Lot. It’s a pretty long read, but definitely worth it if you ask me. If you like short stories (short meaning, 100 pages or so) and love SK’s movies, I’d go with Four Past Midnight, which contains Secret Window and the Langoliers, two of my favorites. “It” is a classic and much better than the movie if you have the time to read through the approximate 1100 pages it has to offer. Another short story collection of his with more interesting-than-scary stories is Nightmares and Dreamscapes (I HIGHLY recommend “The End of the Whole Mess” in that collection. Beautiful). Last, even though I haven’t read it, I imagine that “Misery” would also be a good one to pick up, considering that the movie was simply amazing.
