What are the salary ranges and job opportunities in the field?
Job opportunities are very strong and many people trained in other technical fields have entered the BioMed profession due to the job opportunities. Employment in the immediate La Crosse area is limited; however, graduates have very little trouble finding employment in other cities in the state or out of state. In recent years at least a quarter of the students enrolled in the program already had jobs in their third semester (and may be working full time.) A typical starting salary in Wisconsin would be $36,000 to $45,000 per year. Salaries up to six figures are possible for some technicians such as those with several years of experience, who are employed by a major manufacturer of imaging or radiation treatment equipment, and who travel to customer sites for advanced troubleshooting.
