What are the rules when staying with a homestay family?
Each family will have rules that need to be followed. The rules will vary, depending on the family. While students are often treated as “one of the family”, you must always remember that you are a guest in the home. Students will always be expected to do their own laundry and keep their bedroom and bathroom neat and tidy. In addition, you may be asked to assist in some household chores, such as taking out the garage and helping with dishes. The family will have its own rules concerning bringing guests into the home, smoking, drinking, noise, etc. This will be discussed and agreed upon when you arrive. How much interaction will I have with a homestay family? The amount of interaction with the homestay family depends on the family.
