What are the rules regarding access to the CS labs in P171, P168, and P177?
The labs in Phillips Science Hall rooms 168, 171, and 177 (called P168, P171, and P177) are not general access (GA) labs. P171 is for students taking Computer Science courses, including students who are non-majors. P168 is for Computer Science majors only — it is designated as an “upper division lab” since it is for those CS majors that have projects in upper division CS courses. P177 is the Software Design Lab and is also for CS majors working on group collaborative software design projects. Either way, the instructor of each CS course will tell you which labs you may use. They may also provide you with the cipher combination and a “Phillips Hall pass” as well. Note: in no case may someone, CS major or otherwise, use the lab for non-CS related activities.
