What are the rules on reviewing procedures/protocols in RACFs and using Panels funds to pay for these review activities?
One of the aims of the Initiative is to source and adapt quality care protocols. Panels funding can be used to develop and implement protocols. When considering the development of protocols Divisions should, in the first instance, consider the availability of similar protocols that could be adapted to their local needs rather than developed from scratch. For example, the Department has many resources aimed at education around reducing falls. The AGPN maintain a clearinghouse of resources developed by Divisions of General Practice. This is a useful resource for Divisions to find out what is available and can be adapted to local needs. Divisions considering developing new resources are encouraged to inform AGPN of their plans so that resources developed can be shared with the Divisions Network.
