What are the rules of the road for motorized scooters or gopeds?

0

State law does not require the scooters to be registered and it is not required to have a driver’s license to operate them on the road, however they may not be operated on any road with a speed limit over 25 MPH, nor can they be altered from the original manufacturer’s design. They cannot be used by anyone under 16 years of age unless it is under direct supervision of the parent or guardian. Anyone under the age of 18 must have an approved helmet on while operating a motor assisted scooter on a public road. No vehicle, bicycle or device that can be propelled by human power, including scooters, can be operated on a sidewalk.
