What are the rules of the Methodist church when getting married?

Congratulations on your up coming wedding! Like the responder above I, too, live in North Carolina however I’m also married to a Methodist minister. Different churches have different rules. Smaller churches often let you chose who you want to direct your wedding but they don’t necessarily fix the sanctuary for you while larger churches usually have a wedding director who will help you understand what rules that particular church has. You’ll have premarital counseling where you’ll talk about your communications styles, your vision for your future, how you plan to handle finances etc….. Some pastors are more demanding than others when it comes to premarital counseling. If your intended is already a member of the church then there probably won’t be a fee for the use of the sanctuary and again different churches have different rules about the use of their organ or piano and even the type of music you can have. If the church is large enough to have a church secretary the call her and ask

What is your question?
