What are the rules of canoeing?
Rules can be regulations or recommended procedures that are not law. Regulations are often set by the international rules of the sea, but can vary from local to local. Regulations that are likely to apply to a canoe: 1. Will require registration in many states but not all. 2. In most area, all occupants will be required to have a PFD. In many areas, it is requied that the PFD properly fit each person. 3. Boats are not to exceed capacity. In some areas, one must display the capacity on the stern. 4. At night, one probably needs a white light, to make oneself visible to other boaters. Rarely running lights may be required. (I actually had someone try to ticket me in a canoe for not having running lights) 5.
