What are the rules of appeal against a judgment of a civil court of Luxembourg?
A party may appeal a judgment within 40 days of the date of the notification or of the serving of the decision. The time to lodge an appeal may be different in particular matters (e.g. 15 days for summary proceedings) or if a party lives in a foreign country. The writ of summons must contain the grounds of the appeal. Usually, a party cannot lodge an appeal against a civil judgment when the amount of payment ordered by the court is equal to or less than EUR 1,250.00.
