What are the rules/laws pertaining to loud and abusive noise?
• The County Code prohibits “offensive noise” between the hours of 10:00 P.M. and 8:00 A.M. within 100 feet of any building or place regularly used for sleeping. “Offensive noise” is generally: loud, boisterous irritating, penetrating, unusual, etc. that is likely to disturb people with ordinary sensitivities. The State Penal Code prohibits anyone from maliciously and willfully disturbing another person with loud and unreasonable noise. Remember that not all loud noise is illegal.
