What are the roles of women in christianity?
In the early Christian church, women were among the most enthusiastic converts, Christianity had a strong appeal for Pagan women. Many of the early Christian martyrs were women, like for instance Vibia Perpetua (d.203 AD). She wrote an account of her experiences in prison which wass widely read and circulaated in both Greek and Latin. The Empress Helena flavia Julia (Sainte helen), the mother of the emperor Consantine, introduced her son to christianity,and was a major influenc ein his conversion,and the subsequent converssion of the Roman empire. There are many instances of pagan men being persuaded to convert by their Christian wives. for example, when Saint Augustine came to England to convert the Pagan English, Queen bertha of Kent persuaded her husband King Ethelbert to convert, and to support Augustine.
