What are the roles of males and females in a traditional italian marriage?
The man is the head of the household, and in the Italian culture this is very important. The man is responsible for the means of survival and is expected to know all the anwsers and raise the family to be able to succeed in life as they grow into adulthood. This job is extremely important as family is regarded as sacred in the Itailian culture. The woman is the helpmate to the man and regards herself as a lesser being, but important in her own right as a wife, homemaker and mother. Her job is extremely important as the moral and religious upbringing of the children rest in her hands, and the happiness of her husband is a duty she takes very seriously.
