What Are The Roles, Norms And Values Of African American Culture?

0

Just like in any other culture. Norm and values is character. In that, one should be conscious in whatever one does. You represent firstly, yourself as an individual, then your race, your family and your religion in what ever you do. Your family upbringing, religion and peers determine your norms and values. The role of the African American today is make sure all norms and value are a as positive as they can be for the next generation. Just to add to this. I was Antalya, Turkey on business. A 13 old Turkish boy said to me that he wished he African American. I was surprised so asked why. He said so he could be stronger, faster and everyone would like me. I did not understand what he meant until I went to beach. First time I was not allowed to pay for any food or drinks. This also happened in Latvia (there are no black men there and the women love black men, the women were fighting over me). This shows the influence African American culture has. It is fashionable.
