A. The Rivers & Streams observations are situated along lakes, rivers, and streams that collect data regarding the water depth (and sometimes flow) of a particular body of water. This is important because rivers and streams sometimes flood when water levels rise. These gauges are often our first line of defense against protecting ourselves from flooding and knowing what the water levels are can make all the difference between life and death. As you’re viewing these sensors, you’ll notice that to the right of the map changes from 12hr Digital Forecast to a list of sensors in your viewing area. To view all of the data for a sensor, click the sensor in the list and it will show you the specifics. If you just wish to see the name of a a sensor hover your mouse over the sensor on the map and the temperature (if available) will be displayed.
