What are the risks of using a glucosamine and chondroitin dietary supplement?”

Glucosamine is Glucose (sugar) plus an added animo acid. It makes it easier to absorb for most people, but in studies of lab rats, it inhibited the secretion of insulin/did not create a proper response to the modified sugar in lab rats. Of course it may or not have the same result in humans but it has been said that the supplement is just not as affective in diabetics or has mixed results as the body does not know the proper response to react to it. Or it will just not “work”. For each person, it has to be determined if the benefits outweigh the risks as in anything else.
