What are the risks of developing a blood clot on HRT?
The risks of developing a blood clot (DVT) are very low. The general population risk is 1 in 10,000. This rises to 2 in 10.000 on HRT. If you have a family history of blood clots or have had one yourself this risk rises to 5 in 10,000. You should speak to your doctor if you think you are at increased risk.
