If I were you I’d talk to your doctor and see what he/she says. Besides being overweight, how is your overall health? I’m pretty overweight and pregnant, and I haven’t had any weight-related complications. My blood pressure is fine, no gestational diabetes, my weight gain has been good. You’ll probably be advised to gain less than a normal weight woman. For me, that was actually easy because I lost weight in the beginning without trying. From what I’ve read, this seems to happen to a lot of overweight women. My advice to you if you do become pregnant while still overweight is to eat healthy and exercise. I think that’s what has helped me so far. You are at a higher risk for some complications like gestational diabetes and preeclampsia, but it’s only a slightly higher risk. I guess you’d have to figure out whether you’d rather be pregnant at an older age, or while being overweight. Either one can increase your risk of complications.
