What are the risks/complications associated with Laser Skin Resurfacing?
Possible side effects include: temporary swelling, discomfort, lightening of treated skin, acute sun sensitivity, increased sensitivity to makeup, and pinkness or redness in skin that may persist up to six months. Risks include: burns or injuries caused by laser heat, scarring, abnormal changes in skin color, flare-up of viral infections (“cold sores”) and in some rare cases, other types of skin infections.
