What are the risks associated with using pesticides?
Studies on the negative health effects of pesticides among children, adults and animals have increased over the past two decades. The Ontario government is taking important steps to ban pesticides for cosmetic use across the province. The ban is supported by a joint statement from 15 Ontario health and environmental associations and references The Pesticides Literature Review released by the Ontario College of Family Physicians in 2005 which showed consistent links to serious illnesses such as cancer, reproductive problems and neurological diseases.
