What are the risks and side-effects of LASIKS?
Most of the common side-effects of LASIKS are mild and short-lived. Some side-effects include temporary fluctuations in vision for a few days following the surgery or glare from lights in dark rooms or during the night. The eyes may also be drier than normal, but like the other effects, this typically fades away within two weeks. As with any surgical procedure, risks are possible, but unlikely. Attention needs to be taken to prevent infection, which can damage your cornea and lead to a loss of vision. Before undergoing this or any other procedure, Dr. Negahban will discuss all the risks with you and will make sure that you fully understand them as part of determining the best course of action to take with your treatment.
