What are the risk factors for ED?
In the Massachusetts Male Aging Study published in 1994 in the journal of Urology, erectile dysfunction was found to be correlated with diabetes, abdominal surgery or trauma, heart disease, hypertension, low values of HDL, the use of certain drugs to treat diabetes, hypertension and heart disease, as well as with depression. Cigarette smoking was found to increase the risk of erectile dysfunction associated with hypertension, heart disease or diabetes.
