You are at risk if you: • Are age 45 or older • Are overweight or obese, particularly around the middle • Have high blood pressure • Have low HDL (good) cholesterol and high triglycerides • Have a family history of diabetes • Are African American, Hispanic, Native American, or Asian American • Had gestational (pregnancy-related) diabetes or gave birth to a baby over 9 pounds
