What are the review time frame requirements once a patient has been admitted for the detoxification Observation Bed / Service Period?
A level of care determination must be conducted 24 hours and 48 hours after a patient has been admitted to the Detoxification Observation bed / service period. Then, once the patient transitions from the observation period to either the Medically Managed or the Medically Supervised level of care, physicians must continue to review patient status as clinically appropriate and required by overall general inpatient regulatory requirements.
