What are the restrictions on Renminbi transfers?
You can exchange a maximum of CNY20,000 from HKD to CNY, plus another CNY20,000 from CNY to HKD through your CNY savings account per day. If the daily exchange amount exceeds CNY20,000 or its equivalent, the exchange will be rejected. Please note that CNY exchange between HKD account and CNY account is limited to the transfer between the accounts with the same single/ joint account name(s) and ID number(s). If you wish to transfer CNY from your HKD account to a third party’s CNY account, you should exchange CNY from your HKD account to CNY account, then make a transfer from your CNY account to the third party’s CNY account.
