What are the restrictions for hooking up to the process vacuum?
The process vacuum supplied to the labs (“house vac” or “process vac”) is only intended for dry systems. NEVER attach the process vac to a solution for degassing. Moisture and vapors that are drawn into the process vac will damage the facility pumps and shut down this support capability for all of BNC. Please be cautious when hooking up to this system and contact one of the BNC Managers if you need assistance setting up a vapor trap. Note: Any glassware or equipment that is used with the Process Vac must be shielded and/or explosion proof.
