• The responsibility of the command is to have the individual screened at the SACC to determine if a substance abuse disorder exists. • By law, that once a substance abuse disorder diagnosis has been determined we collectively have an obligation to treat the individual prior to separation from the USMC if the individual desires such treatment. • If the individual does not want treatment at this time, he/she can receive treatment in conjunction with their discharge or at the VA medical center nearest their home of residency.
