What are the responsibilities and education required to become a neurosurgeon?
Responsibilities are varied and generally involve any kind of surgical issue involving the brain, spinal cord, or nerves. Some of them specialize in one area…ie. spinal cord, etc. Four years of college, four years of medical school, and generally around 7 years of residency (give or take a year for accelerated programs or taking off to do research) are required to become a neruosurgeon. Specialization in one area may require extra years after this.
