As a first step, you have to define the scope of management, which requires the Domain administrator user name and password. Secondly, set up the proxy and mail server details that are to be used by the Patch Management module.

As a first step, you have to define the scope of management, which requires the Domain Admin user name and password. Secondly, if the operating system of the machine running Desktop Central is either Windows XP SP2 or Windows 2003 Server SP1, you have to configure the DCOM settings as per the procedure explained in Configuring DCOM Settings topic.
