What are the requirements to start the AAS degree program?
Modern day paramedics are health care professionals. They interact with various members of the health care team and must be able to communicate in a professional manner. They are acquiring more skills and autonomy every day and as such need the ability to problem solve and need critical thinking skills. If you cannot read and write at college entry level you will have a difficult time in this program and the profession. In addition, you are handling drugs and must be able to quickly calculate patient weight and drug dosages to prevent further harm to the patient. Without good basic math skills you will be unable to do this effectively.
