You will not be able to take up residency or work in the Bahamas without the proper documentation and papers from The Bahamas Immigration Department. I suggest that you contact them on line but before you do, perhaps you should check your Custody Agreement to see if your Child can leave the Country.

You can get RESIDENT ALIEN STATUS if you PURCHASE a house or a condo in the Bahamas.. but you still won’t be able to work there. Your best bet would be to buy a boat and live aboard.. that puts you in an entirely different catagory and there are a lot of jobs working on tourist boats for people who LIVE on a boat.
