To become an EMT-Basic the individual must: be at least (18) eighteen years of age prior to entry into the training program, have completed English 085 or achieve a designation of College Reading, have a physical examination within the last year, provide proof of immunization to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella, have received Tuberculosis (TB) testing no more than (6) six months prior to the beginning of class, either obtain or decline the Hepatitis C vaccination series, order an online background check through PreCheck, provide proof of health insurance and completion of the MCC EMT-Basic application submitted to the EMS office.
