You must be at least 18 years old if applying for an intrastate CDL and 21 if you are applying for an interstate CDL. You must have also had a current regular Rhode Island license for at least one year, with no suspensions or revocations on your record. Furthermore, you must pass the required medical exam. Be sure to bring the application for a commercial drivers license filled out entirely.
