What are the requirements necessary to become a community counselor?
The Community Counseling option in the Counselor Education Program requires 48 graduate credit hours of study including 15 hours that are program specific. Through course work, practica and clinical internships, students may prepare to practice as a: Community Mental Health Counselor, Clinic or Hospital Counselor, Career Counselor, Marriage & Family Counselor, Substance Abuse Counselor, Gerontology Counselor and Employee Assistance counselor.
