What are the requirements if I want to transfer to WVU?
• A: A student wishing to apply credit earned at another accredited institution of higher education to a master’s degree at WVU must obtain a Transfer of Graduate Credit Form from the Office of Admissions and Records. This form requires the signature of the student’s unit chairperson or designee. The student must also have an official transcript from the other institution sent to the Office of Admissions and Records. Only credit earned at accredited institutions at the graduate level may be transferred. Non-degree graduate students are not permitted to transfer credit to WVU from another institution.
• A: Most programs require a 2.0 college GPA to transfer, but some programs have additional requirements. Students must submit the application, their official transcript, and pages of their college’s catalog with the descriptions of the courses taken highlighted. You can check out WVU’s Transfer Equivalency System to see how your credits may transfer. Transfer students with fewer than 29 credits are considered freshmen and must submit their ACT/SAT test scores and their official high school transcript along with the previous college information. All application materials must be received in the Office of Admissions and Records by August 1 for fall admission and by December 1 for spring admission.
