What are the requirements for the supervision of the LPN?
A. A LPN may not practice independently. A LPN must be supervised by a RN or physician. The healthcare setting defines if the RN or physician must be present in proximate area, refer to IAC 655, Chapter 6, Section 6.3(5) and 6.3(6). The facility defines the degree of supervision through institutional policy.
