What are the requirements for successful completion to earn the certificate?
Ten (10) total semester units are required to obtain the certificate. At least six (6) of the ten total semester units must be taken from the core list of classes. In addition, all coursework must be completed with a minimum GPA of 2.0, and no grade lower than C. All core and elective courses are listed on the program page.
To receive a certificate of completion, you must successfully complete the Essential Paralegal Studies course and four substantive law courses within a period of one year. Projects and exams, including a comprehensive written final exam, will be administered. All coursework must be completed with a minimum GPA of 2.0, and no grade lower than C. On successful completion of either the classroom-based or self-paced program, you are awarded a certificate of completion from UC Berkeley Extension.
