What are the requirements for substitutes?
• All applicants must pass a criminal history check to be eligible to substitute in Plano ISD. • Three work references are required of all applicants. • Substitute teacher requirements: Bachelor’s degree. • Substitute licensed nurse or licensed professional requirements; current license • Substitute paraprofessional (such as classroom assistant or clerical) requirements; high school diploma or equivalent • Individuals with a degree from a university located outside of the U.S. must have the degree transcripts evaluated by an accredited international degree equivalency evaluator and meet current criteria for substitute positions.
