What are the requirements for substantial equivalency?
A.R.S. ยง 32-726 has various subsections of the law that delineate the various avenues by which to become certified in Arizona. In ALL instances the person must have passed the Uniform CPA Exam and meet character and fitness requirements including being at least 18 years of age, being of good moral character, and has not engaged in conduct that would constitute grounds for discipline. Further, all education must come from an accredited institution or a college or university maintaining standards comparable to those of an accredited institution. There are some variations in the education and experience requirements where your experience may be able to offset your educational requirements.
